Ms. "nonoise" is misinformed, Ed Reyes is not on the ballot for CD1. Gil Cedillo is a…Read More carpetbagging influence peddler funded by the billboard industry, Wal-Mart, and every union who needs another advocate at City Hall. He also lies about his endorsements. The only green any of these people care about is the green dollars that they get from Developers,…Read More Unions and special interest groups. Oh, and yes the amount of Taxes disgused as "Fees" they can get from Taxpayers. Vote against all incumbents and former office holders if for no other reason than to let a new group of people have a chance to see if they can do something diferant that just might work as well as reduce the influence special interest groups have over incumbents. Please refer to the Einstein quote of Insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" Apply this to Incumbents and discuss with the 11% of the people expected to vote.

Garcetti's green is only when it is Greenbacks. The research shows that the TODs are anti-green and…Read More increase the Greehouse Effect, but Garcetti presses for more and more TOD's with less and less green space. When Hollywoodians wanted a park on the vacant lot directly across Hollywood Boulevard from Garcetti's filed office, it got expedited approvals to be a huge mixed-use complex which torn down three old huge ficus trees so that people could see the signage the developer wants to splash across the front.
He refuses to allow a single park-garden woonerf be constructed in Hollywood. Why? The developers do not want to pay for off-street parking in their projects and thus they want the streets to be used for parking -- not turned into gardens and parks.
Garcetti once proposed building apartments over streets with wide median strips and to eradicate backyards by building apartment houses which would stretch across the backyards for an entire city block. He calls these projects 'In-fill" In'fill means, anyplace that doesn't have a mixed-use project needs to have an apartment.
You think your back yard is yours? Ha! Garcetti pushed AB 2531 to bring Kelo eminent domain to eery parcel in LA. If some developer buddy of Garcetti decided that he wanted all the back yards on your side of an R-1 Street, all the backyards could be taken away under KELO eminent domain. The Gov Arnie vetoed AB 2531, but that does not mean Garcetti have given up.

And who gave the Unions those contracts in the first place? The city council, when Garcetti was…Read More presiding. Garcetti has been paid out by Millennium, Millennium paid 46,000 to run an ad against Choi, and where are you getting your statistics about "He is supported by the lion’s share of local businesses and ‘high information voters,’ and has a groundswell of support from within the local community… " please put in references, otherwise, it is just ancedotal. I am a highly informed voter who lives in the core. Local Businesses, i.e., the Chamber, endorsed him because he will fight for the Community Plan. Isn't it odd that when the 'local residents', ie, more than 40 Neighborhood Councils, homeowner groups, etc, are supporting to Stop Millennium, when three lawsuits are pending against the Hollywood Community Plan by it's residents, and business owners who do not reside in the area are countersuing, what does that tell you? Business owners do not care about local business. They car about development dollars. They are going after development deals right and left when, in fact, the census shows a decline in population. Behavior explains everything, people leaving and taking their cash with them so the local businesses have to attract outside money on large development deals to claim a renaissance, Push out the locals and bring new ones in. That is Garcetti's plan. Who knows what Gruel will be like, she is a risk, but Garcetti's behavior has already been tracked.

Our lame duck mayor and Garcetti and his pal are all drinking the Kool Aide of "Hollywood…Read More Becomes Manhattan." It's frightening. Manhattan has skyscrapers because there are 14 separate subway lines running through midtown... dozen of bus lines... Hollywood does NOT have this. The City Council wants to encourage BICYCLE TRAFFIC to lessen traffic. We need some SANE PEOPLE in City Hall. Someone save us from men who need to mark their greatness with "tall, erect things."

We are voting for Wendy..Garcetti is funded by skyscraper developer Millennium, supported by the…Read More butcher/rapist of Hollywood, The Hollywood Chamber(PAC for Garcetti),Pro higher density Hollywood Community Plan, which accommodates Millennium and Millennium type projects, (they hired Millennium's law firm to fight the THREE law suits against it)..Garcetti's Deputy Advisor, running to inherit his CD13 council seat, in Millennium projects district, is also funded by Millennium and endorsed by Hollywood Chamber. Which seals the developer deals... communities will not have a ghost of a chance fighting for quality of life, protecting their life investments, and the last remaining Historical Hollywood remnants, from effects of Manhattanized, huge oversize massive projects (garcetti's skewed 'vision' for Hollywood..Times Square West) and no help protecting their communities or Hollywood from them.
Choi was the only CD13 candidate who responded and actually took time out and sat down and met with a group of fed up with Garcetti, Hollywood residents, to listen to and answer questions. He also was the only one of the two who showed up at a Neighborhood Council meeting, to again listen and answer questions. He was very impressive.. Garcetti's guy, is a recycled garcetti, as garcetti ignored and dismissed communities in his district for years while he got what he needed to get done, for his developer funders. Many of the NC Board Members addressed this to Choi, hoping he will be accessible as garcetti disappeared on them for years, and certainly never was. People are sick and tired in Hollywood of being cut out, ignored and dismissed..I fear Garcetti's deputy advisor will be more of the same .He didnt even show up.
Millennium spent plenty on unflattering flyers to sabbotage Choi's campaign. They and The Chamber will stop at nothing to get candidates in who will do their bidding.
It is despicable.
Please do your own homework, and be very careful who you vote for!
