Don't hold your breath ..garcetti was pandering for votes the day he voted against LAX expansion.heRead More knew full well it had the votes to pass. It was all a show..he became their hero.He cared nothing about his own communities in Hollywood..he will not do damn thing to protect Westchester communities. Bill Rosendahl knows this..he supported Greuel With Garcetti, the Millennium skyscraper developer funded and Hollywood Chamber supported Mayor and his Deputy, inheriting his CD 13 council seat, also Millennium developer funded and Hollywood Chamber supported ..Hollywood is finished.Pack up, sell and leave..before it's too late!Just as garcetti told us we all should do on the floor of council the day he got the Hollywood Community higher density Plan approved,to accommodate his developer funders projects...'If you dont like living in higher density Hollywood ..leave'..nice guy. That is how he 'engaged and listened to' communities and why there are now three law suits against the HCP and litigation against his developer funder massive projects.this is his legacy in Hollywood. And MORE crime in our communities, more shootouts, in the streets and in the nightclubs he encouraged the proliferation of. His 'Savior of Hollywood' PR was all bull. Greuel may have been supported by the unions but he certainly was not 'INDEPENDENT"..HE LIES... He sold Hollywood to his wealthy NYC developer funders, and he will sell other areas of L.A. to them too. Wait till he gets the Eminant Domain thing through for his developer funders.. those that voted for him..hope it is not your homes the city takes away for his developer projects! Sad and tragic, so few knew all the developer illegalities this guy has been involved in AND GOT AWAY WITH..Greuel campaign was WAY too soft on him. HE led city council voting to raise DWP salaries and wanted DWP support, when he did not get it he destroyed her and demonized them. 'Know thine enemy', his campaign was like the mafia.. dont cross them..but if you want to beat them.. you better be prepared to come out with gloves on and go after THEM..And there was alot to go after..and be willing to NOT run a 'classy' campaign. It's never too late for investigations! Visit PeopleForLivableCommunities/SaveHollywood and StopTheMillenniumHollywood.org All born out of Garcetti ignoring and dismissing communities in his own District, that he destroyed!

A warning for those running for office. 1. Don't pander to unions; ie, IBEW/DWP. Folks look at theirRead More DWP bill and think, hmmmm is this bill going to be higher 2. Keep outside folks like Clinton and Boxer out of local elections. It's suppose to be a nonpolitical office (even though we know it isn't) but what it does do is piss off those that might consider voting for one over the other. 3. Don't pander to women. Guys vote also so all the talk about the first woman mayor may be okay, but don't make it a big platform item. There you have it all free of charge.

Yea! Let the gentrification of Los Angeles began. Garcetti has already been responsable for overRead More 13,000 Latinos being pushed out of their neighborhoods and counting; yet, he goes around pretending to be a Latino. I guess I better get ready to pack my bags because little old working class me don't deserve to live here and its a matter of time before a developer push me out.

Hey Cal, This was actually my fault. Because I spend so much time on Moorpark Patch, I think IRead More automatically typed in "Moorpark" when helping out with getting the LA election news onto the Patch sites in Los Angeles . . . Usually when I make a silly mistake like this, I'll fix it behind the scenes before anything actually gets published. Last night, I found out one of the glitches to be ironed out in our new platform is items posted directly from other sites can't be deleted without deleting the original. Hopefully our tech genies get that fixed soon, but in the mean time, I'll definitely be more careful and keep our local site local (at least as much as I can. Some of the sponsored content is beyond my control).

Dear Patch People... Why include an article in the Moorpark Patch that has to do with localRead More politics in LA? Why should this take up space in our Patch? Anybody following the elections in LA can turn to the LAT on line or any number of other sources if interested. Just wondering... I prize the local news and the timeleness of the Patch. Forget the stuff that doesn't really impact our community.

Does anyone know what "separated" means? Separated how? What is a "designatedRead More place" A dentist office? A car wash? clerk.lacity.org/stellent/groups/...Elections.../LACITYP_024794.pdf‎ Above is a PDF from LA City that says on page 3 that it is 600' from religious worship. Whoever writes these articles needs to do some fact checking. Or at least be able to back up their comments with some sort of documentation. Not only is this new Patch format inferior to the old layout, so seems to be the reporting as well.

As I read it: "...is separated from residential zones, maintains a 1,000 foot distance fromRead More schools and a 600 foot distance from parks, child care facilities, and other designated places, and other requirements. The proposition requires a 600 foot separation between medical marijuana businesses."

I see this article is posted on every Patch so the local Eagle Rock editor probably didn't writeRead More this article. Can anyone find out if its 600' or 1000'? Anyone? anyone?
What Price does it cost to get Curren's vote? Ask the plastics industry.

The only green any of these people care about is the green dollars that they get from Developers,Read More Unions and special interest groups. Oh, and yes the amount of Taxes disgused as "Fees" they can get from Taxpayers. Vote against all incumbents and former office holders if for no other reason than to let a new group of people have a chance to see if they can do something diferant that just might work as well as reduce the influence special interest groups have over incumbents. Please refer to the Einstein quote of Insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" Apply this to Incumbents and discuss with the 11% of the people expected to vote.

Garcetti's green is only when it is Greenbacks. The research shows that the TODs are anti-green andRead More increase the Greehouse Effect, but Garcetti presses for more and more TOD's with less and less green space. When Hollywoodians wanted a park on the vacant lot directly across Hollywood Boulevard from Garcetti's filed office, it got expedited approvals to be a huge mixed-use complex which torn down three old huge ficus trees so that people could see the signage the developer wants to splash across the front. He refuses to allow a single park-garden woonerf be constructed in Hollywood. Why? The developers do not want to pay for off-street parking in their projects and thus they want the streets to be used for parking -- not turned into gardens and parks. Garcetti once proposed building apartments over streets with wide median strips and to eradicate backyards by building apartment houses which would stretch across the backyards for an entire city block. He calls these projects 'In-fill" In'fill means, anyplace that doesn't have a mixed-use project needs to have an apartment. You think your back yard is yours? Ha! Garcetti pushed AB 2531 to bring Kelo eminent domain to eery parcel in LA. If some developer buddy of Garcetti decided that he wanted all the back yards on your side of an R-1 Street, all the backyards could be taken away under KELO eminent domain. The Gov Arnie vetoed AB 2531, but that does not mean Garcetti have given up.
