Thursday: Hollywood Community Plan Update

The second of two public hearings and open houses planned to discuss the proposed Hollywood Community Plan is being held Thursday night.

The meeting is an opportunity for the public to hear and comment on the proposed Zone Changes and Plan Amendments to the Hollywood Community Plan, in accordance with the Los Angeles City Charter.

The existing Hollywood Community Plan was adopted in 1988 and is being updated to reflect current policies, practices, and conditions. The proposed Zone Changes and Plan Amendments are initiated by the City of Los Angeles and involve private and publicly owned land.

The format of each of the two sessions will be an Open House followed by a Public Hearing. At the Open House, from 4:30 to 6:30pm, Department of City Planning staff will present the proposed changes to the existing plan and will answer related questions.

Beginning at 6:30pm, a Public Hearing will be conducted by a Hearing Officer, who will consider all public testimony and any written communication received prior to, or at the hearing. A written recommendation report will subsequently be prepared by the Department of City Planning for consideration by the City Planning Commission and then by the City Council and Mayor. The City Planning Commission meeting date has been tentatively scheduled for December 15, 2011.
