Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash [Updated]

Police say it happened in the 6700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

A man was struck and killed in Hollywood this morning by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene, police said.

The crash occurred at about 3:10 a.m. in the 6700 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, just east of Highland Avenue, according to Officer Raymond Kim of the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

Keymontae Mackenzie, whose age was unknown, died at the scene, police said.

The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a light-color, late-model two- door sedan.

The fatal crash came one the same day Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino proposed that the city ofer a standing $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of drivers in deadly hit-and-run crashes.

Anyone with information on this morning's fatality was urged to call police at (877) LAPD-247.
