Suspect Arrested in Hollywood Nightclub Shooting

Robert Earl Thomas, 22, is booked on suspicion of murder.

A Los Angeles man was in custody Thursday in Las Vegas on suspicion of fatally shooting another man at a Hollywood nightclub, police said.

Robert Earl Thomas, 22, was taken into custody Wednesday night and was booked on suspicion of murder in the killing of 19-year-old Andre Lowe, who was fatally shot about 2 a.m. Sunday, Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department said. He died at a hospital.

Legal proceedings were pending to return Thomas to Los Angeles for prosecution, French said.

The shooting occurred outside the Empire Club at 1716 North Cahuenga Blvd., according to LAPD Sgt. Mark Ro of the Hollywood Station.

"A fight inside the nightclub spilled outside," Ro said.

A woman who was crossing the street near the club was slightly grazed by a bullet but did not require hospital treatment, Ro said.

Video of the shooting was posted on the TMZ.com website.

French said detectives followed a number of leads, including those generated by the posting of video showing the shooting.
