A woman is reportedly hospitalized and three others are taken into custody near Yucca Street and Cahuenga Boulevard.

A short, high-speed police chase ended with a vehicle collision between an SUV and a black car at Yucca Street and Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood Friday night, according to Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department.

KCAL9 reported that a woman who was trapped in the car being chased by the police was taken to a hospital on a stretcher after being freed from the vehicle by firefighters. Three others inside the vehicle were taken into custody and the driver suffered minor injuries, according to the report.

The chase lasted about two minutes and ended about 10:15 p.m., according to Borihanh. It is unknown at this time what led to the pursuit.

Cahuenga was closed at least between Franklin Avenue and Yucca. Patch will update this story as more information is available.

Correction: The pursuit started at Cahuenga Boulevard and Yucca Street around 10:13 p.m. LAPD officers were in pursuit of a black sedan when it ran a red light and collided with a Cadillac Escalade at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard. It was earlier reported that a total of three cars collided, but only the SUV was involved. Officers reportedly arrested three men who were in the sedan. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to rescue a badly injured woman who was trapped in the sedan. The driver of the SUV was also taken to the hospital. (Copyright ©2012 KABC-TV/DT.
