Man Convicted of 2013 Murder Outside Empire Club in Hollywood

A man was convicted today of a murder that took place outside a Hollywood nightclub last year.

Robert Earl Thomas III shot 19-year-old Andre Lowe about 2 a.m. on Jan. 13, 2013, outside the Empire Club at 1716 N. Cahuenga Blvd. after a fight spilled outside.

A woman who was crossing the street nearby was slightly grazed by a bullet but did not require hospital treatment.

Detectives followed a number of leads, including those generated by the posting of video footage of the shooting, resulting in Thomas' arrest in Las Vegas a few days later, according to LAPD spokesman Richard French.
