Man Arrested on Suspicion of Rape at Hollywood Parking Structure

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in the parking structure of the ArcLight movie theater in Hollywood, authorities announced Wednesday.

Chris Cardoza, of Reseda, was taken into custody Tuesday as he left work on the 8900 block of Wilshire Boulevard, according to a Los Angeles police statement. He was booked on rape and is being held on $100,000 bail.

Cardoza is suspected in the attack that occured on the 1400 block of Ivar Avenue around 3 a.m. on Sunday, according to authorities. Initial reports indicated the victim, in her 20s, was accosted by five men, but Wednesday's announcement indicated Cordoza acted alone.

After the attack, the woman told a friend and that person called authorities.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released.
