Four people were injured Friday—two critically—in a three-vehicle crash on the Hollywood (101) Freeway in Hollywood, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 2:40 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway at Hollywood Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Three vehicles were involved and two people were cut out of two of them, Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Peter Benesch told a news photographer at the scene.

Both of the extricated patients were hospitalized in critical condition, but were expected to survive, Benesch said, adding that two other people suffered minor injuries and were also taken to a hospital.
The CHP was investigating the cause of the crash, which closed all southbound lanes of the freeway for about an hour.
