Fire Department Rescues Runyon Canyon Hiker

The male hiker was taken to the hospital by LAFD ground crews.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews rescued a man who became ill while hiking at Runyon Canyon Park on Saturday morning.

According to LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey, Los Angeles Police Department officers and park rangers participated in the rescue of the distressed hiker at around 11:30 a.m.

The rescue occured by ground and the hiker was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. No further details could be provided as of Saturday afternoon.
