Hollywood Today: KNX Broadcasts Live From Community

Also: The Hollywood Regional Library will offer family story time Friday.

KNX 1080 Newsradio is scheduled to broadcast live from Hollywood Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the W Hollywood hotel. The program includes features and news stories dedicated to Hollywood. "Civic and business leaders, along with colorful personalities connected to Hollywood will be special guests," according to its website. The afternoon broadcast is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from the ArcLight. More happenings:

  • Bring the kids to the at 4:30 p.m. for Family Fun Friday Storytime. The program includes stories, songs and rhymes.
  • Another option: Bring the children to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. There will be storytelling at 2 p.m. in the Boone Children’s Gallery. The gallery is located on the second level of the Hammer Building at LACMA. The event is free, and no reservations are required. There will also be a special screening in Bing Theater of The Other Conquest or La Otra Conquista, a 2000 Mexican feature film, The screening will be followed by a question and answer discussion with the film’s director Salvador Carrasco, the film’s protagonist Damián Delgado, and some featured scholars. The screening is free, but tickets are required. Tickets may be picked up on a first-come, first-serve basis, beginning at 6:30 p.m. when a stand-by line will form at the Hammer Building Ticket Office.   • There will be guided tours offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Page Museum, La Brea Tar Pits. The tours offer views of the museum’s fossil collection, the La Brea Tar Pits, and Hancock Park. The tours take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
