Social Media For Actors: Your Voice - Your Brand.

It's Monday morning, you're ready to start your week, you have all your plans in order to pursue your dreams! At Berg Studios, we hear our acting students always talking about how busy their schedules are. If that sounds like you, then maybe this looks familiar....

To Do List:

  1. Call Agent
  2. Submit Yourself For Jobs
  3. Go Hike Runyon Canyon
  4. Grab A Detoxing Juice
  5. Head Home To Rehearse Lines
  6. Had To Acting Class
  7. Meet Friends For Drinks At A Networking Event
  8. Home To Watch The Shows You Tivoed
It was a busy day and you feel good about it. You're on your way right?

Probably not so much. Sure you have several core elements in order. You definitely are organized and focused, but what about YOU as a BRAND?

This is where Social Media comes in. Not just posting Food Photos on Instagram and Twitter or Checking-In at bars on Facebook, but sharing your voice, thoughts, experiences and challenges with the world - Be connected.

The beauty of Social Media is it allows you to do what your managers may be neglecting to do - connect you to people. It allows you to do more in a few minutes than you may accomplish in hours at an open-bar party - connect you to people. It allows you to represent yourself and your talent while opening up discussions that - connect you to people.

You always can find time to send a few tweets, share links and update status' to engage and grow your online community. You'll find that in doing so, you'll start to shape not only the way in which you interact with people, but also expand the amount of people you interact with. This goes for general communication and entertainment alike.

In September, Social Media Week LA comes to town. The week-long event is highlighted by guest speakers, cases studies, industry mixers, and a plethora of insight to help you better incorporate social media into your daily lives.

Care about having your voice heard and actively positioning your brand in the public's eye - Get connected to social media for the best interest of your career.
