L.A.’S TAILWAGGERS LAUNCHES NEW FOUNDATION, HOSTS FIRST-EVER “WAGGY AWARDS”

LA’s neighborhood pet store, Tailwaggers, will
launch its new foundation and kick-off the first annual Tailwagger’s Foundation
Waggy Awards honoring individuals who have demonstrated remarkable spirit and
conviction in the crusade to improve animal welfare in the local community and
around the world.  Being honored at Sunday’s event are Manuel Oteyza and
Gabriela Cowperthwaite—producer and director of the critically-acclaimed
documentary film “Blackfish.”  LA City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell will
also be honored for his work to ban the use of bullhooks on elephants in the
city of LA, as well as Chris Hogan, executive vice president of the Hogan
Family Foundation and Lifeline 4 Paws which secures medical treatment for sick
and injured dogs.  The honorees will receive their Waggy Awards at a
special celebration at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.  Tickets
are $60 per person and can be purchased online at www.thetailwaggersfoundation.org
or in person at the Hollywood or West Hollywood Tailwaggers store (limited
tickets available.)  All proceeds from ticket sales go to The Tailwaggers
Foundation, a nonprofit which provides medical care and support for sick and injured
animals giving them a better chance of adoption and finding a loving home.
