Wind Gusts Could Reach 45 mph in Hollywood

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory through 2 p.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service announced a forecast of "gusty and potentially damaging Santa Ana winds" that are expected to hit Los Angeles Thursday morning. As a result, a wind advisory was issued through 2 p.m. Friday.

Strong winds are expected along the coast from the Ventura County line to the Hollywood Hills, according to the warning.

The National Weather Service predicted that winds from the north ranging from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 would sweep from Ventura County to the Hollywood Hills.

Winds will increase through the morning, diminish slightly later this afternoon and evening, then peak again Friday morning, according to the advisory. The strongest winds will be through and below passes and canyons from Malibu to Hollywood.

Winds may cause small tree limbs to break and may displace unsecured objects. Use extra caution while driving, especially high profile vehicles.
