Weekend Planner: 'Batman' Movies, American Indian Culture and Dynamo Dancing

Here are a few options of things to do in Hollywood this weekend.

1. Batman Double Feature

Why go: Go on a journey with the legendary Batman. The Egyptian Theatre will screen Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, both directed by Christopher Nolan.

2. Open Market Place

Where/When: Hollywood High School, 1521 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, 90028. Saturday, August 6, at 9 a.m.

Why go: The Open Market Place takes place every Saturday and it’s perfect for purchasing antiques, hand-made crafts and vintage clothing and accessories. You can also purchase used books and much more at bargain prices.

3. Community Basket Program

Where/When: Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Dr., Los Angeles, 90027. Saturday, August 6, at 1 p.m.

Why go: Visit the Autry and learn all there is to know about Native American basketry. Educators will teach you all the techniques of basket weaving, then give it a try by weaving a community round basket.

4. GeneratioNext!

Where/When: Ford Amphitheatre, 2580 Cahuenga Blvd E, Los Angeles, 90068. Sunday, August 7 at 5 p.m.

Why go: America's Best Dance Crew Season 3 Champions Quest Crew is hosting GenerationNext! presented by PAE Live. This is a concert focusing on the hottest, young, talented Asian-Americans who’ve become reality show and YouTube sensations.

5. American Indian Culture Day: Cherokee Marbles

Where/When: Griffith Park, 4730 Crystal Springs Dr., Los Angeles, 90027. Sunday, August 7, at 1 p.m.

Why go: The Autry is celebrating American Indian culture with a story time with Harrison Lowe, a cultural presentation of Cherokee Marbles from the Native Americans and live Native American music. This informative event includes a family tour of the exhibit "The Art of Native American Basketry."
