Mental Competency Hearing Held for Machete-Wielding Man

The man was arrested last month after barricading himself in his Hollywood apartment.

A mental competency status conference was held on Monday for Oliviero Bozzi, who barricaded himself in a Hollywood apartment after allegedly threatening residents with a machete.

Bozzi was arrested last month after being charged with making criminal threats and resisting arrest.

After he barricaded himself in his apartment on the 1700 block of North Fuller Avenue, police had to fire tear gas inside in order to get him out.

No residents in the apartment building were injured.

Bozzi is scheduled to return to court for another hearing on July 2.
