Hollywood Today: Shop Open Market Place

Also: Beware of damaging winds poised to rake through Southern California this weekend.

The National Weather Service has  issued a special weather message that winds of 25-40 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph, will develop Saturday night and persist through Sunday. Gust zones includes the Hollywood Hills, Topanga, Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains.

More happenings:

  • , a vintage flea market, will set up shop in the parking lot at Hollywood High School from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Find vintage clothing, antiques, collectibles, handmade goods and more. The marketplace, which attracts nearly 100 vendors, takes place on the first Saturday of each month.
  • Amoeba's monthly charity auction is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday. Bid on rare and collectible memorabilia, concert tickets, wacky promo items and more. Amoeba will match individual donations up to $1,000. The proceed's from January's auction will benefit Food on Foot, a Hollywood nonprofit assisting the homeless of Los Angeles.
