This Week in Hollywood: The Flaming Lips, Matt & Kim and Opening Night at the Bowl

What to see and hear at Hollywood concert venues June 13-19.

Psychedelic rock veterans The Flaming Lips, known for their elaborate live performances, will play two sold-out shows at Hollywood Forever Cemetery this week. On Tuesday, the band will perform their 1999 album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety. On Wednesday, they’ll perform Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.  

The Hollywood Bowl will host its highly anticipated Opening Night Friday, with musical performances by Harry Connick, Jr., Gloria Estefan and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, with appearances by Hellen Mirren, Andy Garcia and Hilary Swank and a special Cirque du Soleil performance.

Brooklyn indie pop duo Matt & Kim plan two stops at The Music Box. Mötley Crüe will perform in Hollywood with Poison New York Dolls as part of the group’s summer tour. British art rock act Florence + The Machine brings two performances to the Greek Theatre. Indie folk duo The Civil Wars will play a free Amoeba Music show. Senegalese superstar Youssou N'Dour brings his unique style to Hollywood.
