PHOTOS: Hollywood Boulevard Closed for Katy Perry

The pop singer stages a concert to promote her new movie.

A stage and all the supporting gear, including tents and trucks, were parked in front of the Hollywood & Highland Center Tuesday afternoon for a Katy Perry concert and the premiere of her new movie.

Passing by the popular tourist destination, Patch spotted Perry rehearsing for her concert. The show is scheduled for 5 p.m., according to a security guard.

All lanes of Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive were closed through Wednesday at 4 a.m. for Katy Perry's Part of Me premiere and concert.

Additionally, the mid-block crosswalk will be closed and the sidewalks will be open intermittently.

Check out the slideshow above for a glimpse at the scene around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

While Katy Perry is fairly family-friendly entertainment, the pre-show music wasn't exactly fit for the many 6 to 12 year-olds that were there. They were treated to the endearing musical lyrics from the rapper, Drake, who's limited vocabulary relies heavily on the words "N**GA" and "F**K". Nice. That's Hollywood for you...always there for the kids.
