Melissa Etheridge to Receive Star on Walk of Fame

The Grammy Award winner will be honored at a ceremony Tuesday.

Grammy Award-winning musician Melissa Etheridge will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a ceremony Tuesday.

The unveiling of the star, which is being awarded in the category of recording, will take place in front of the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony for the Walk of Fame's 2,450th star will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Etheridge has been a musician for more than 20 years. She has recorded 10 studio albums and has toured around the world.

She won a Grammy Award for her performance of the song "Ain't It Heavy" from the album Never Enough in 1993.

Etheridge also won an Academy Award for best original song for "I Need to Wake Up" from the documentary An Inconvenient Truth in 2007.
