Charges Filed Against Woman Who Allegedly Barricaded Herself Inside Actor's Home

The woman is arrested at the Hollywood Hills home of 'American Pie' actor Eddie Kaye Thomas.

Criminal charges were filed Friday against a woman who allegedly armed herself with a knife and barricaded herself inside the Hollywood Hills home of "American Pie" actor Eddie Kaye Thomas last week, prompting a standoff of almost six-and-a-half hours.

Roxanna Bear, who turned 32 Saturday, pleaded not guilty to one felony count of vandalism with over $400 damage and one misdemeanor count each of exhibiting a deadly weapon, interference with a wireless communication device, false report of a criminal offense and resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Upinder S. Kalra ordered her to stay away from the actor and his home.

Police were called to the scene at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday after she allegedly pulled a knife at the home.

The home belongs to Thomas, 32, best known for his role as Paul Finch in the "American Pie" film series, according to Officer J. Boyer of the LAPD's Hollywood Station.

Bear had spent the night at the residence, but became angry when she was asked to leave and armed herself with a knife, LAPD Lt. Andrew Neiman told reporters at the scene.

Police sharpshooters were called in, along with negotiators to try to coax the woman out of the home, police said.

But in the end, officers used flash-bang grenades and tear gas before entering the home and removing her, Boyer said. She was taken into custody about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The vandalism charge alleges damage to phone lines, a cellphone, home furnishings, windows, a guitar and clothing.

She remains jailed on $20,000 bail while awaiting a hearing May 3 to determine if there is enough evidence to require her to stand trial.
