INDIAN LARRY: Photographs by Timothy White

PROJECT Gallery welcomes acclaimed celebrity photographer Timothy
White and the Los Angeles premiere of his retrospective of legendary motorcycle
builder, Indian Larry. Excerpted from White’s book on his long time friend and
riding partner, the exhibit features compelling and intimate images of Indian
Larry and his radical bikes, as well as a viewing of an actual one of a kind,
custom motorcycle built by the late artist.

Larry Desmedt (1949-2004) was a genius
motorcycle builder, daredevil extraordinaire, and
introspective philosopher that will forever be known as Indian Larry. He
remains the motorcycle world’s most beloved figure, known equally for his wild
antics, his gentleness, and generosity, and the radical bikes that reflected
his carnivalesque character. One of the originators of the hard-core-style
custom chopper, he combined ingenious metalwork and inventive engineering in
highly collectible chrome sculptures that have garnered worldwide respect and
recognition.

Timothy White is one of the most
sought-after celebrity photographers in the country. For over twenty years, he
has captured the intimate, playful sides of legendary actors and actresses as
well as the innocence of up and comers. He has photographed and continues to
shoot some of the most recognizable movie posters of our time, the covers of
countless high-profile publications, and imagery for an extraordinary roster of
musicians. Named one of the most important people in photography by American
Photo, Timothy White is the recipient of several photography and film
awards, including the International Photographer of the Year.
 Timothy White’s photographs are exhibited in galleries and museums
worldwide.
