Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Hollywood

Bars, restaurants and pubs in Hollywood are hosting a variety of St. Patrick's Day events on Thursday.

Planning to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? With festivities including a pubcrawl, a beer festival and live bagpipe players, there is much to do and see in Hollywood.

Beer Festival

The first ever St. Patricks Day Beer Festival is taking place at Pig Pig N' Whistle, Maui N' Sons and the Egyptian Theater courtyard beginning at noon. Throughout the day there will be live Irish bands, dancing Irish girls and food and drink specials. At night, U2 Cover Band performs live in the Pig N' Whistle from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a disc jockey will play rock, Top 40 and club mixes until 2 a.m.

Drink specials include $3 draft beers and $5 mixed drinks. Choose from more than 50 imported and domestic beers on the menu.  The first beer or vodka drink is on the house. Tickets: $15. See website for details.

Registration for a St. Patrick's Day two-day pubcrawl begins at noon at Pig N' Whistle on Thursday and Friday. More than 20 bars, clubs and pubs are participating in the event. Take advantage of drink specials and pay no cover.

Drink specials include $2 draft beers, $3 mixed drinks and $4 shots. Participating venues include Pig N’ Whistle, Maui N’ Sons, Green Room, Hard Rock Café, Hooters, Geisha House, Angels & Kings, Power House, Snow White Café, Five 0 Four, Le Croissant Club, Tekila, Boardner’s, California Wings Café, Capitol City Sports Grill, Loaded, Velvet Margarita, Big Wangs, Frolic Room, ecco and more.

Dillon's Irish Pub

Dillon's Irish Pub gets its biggest party of the year started early, opening its doors at 6 a.m. Thursday. 

Throughout the day a leprechaun will host the festivities, which includes live bagpipe players, prizes and a bangers eating competition. Radion station 98.7 KYSR will be broadcasting live and giving away concert tickets.

Strike a pose wearing your own green gear or dress up with props that include green boas and top hats  in Svedka's photo booth.  There will be specialty cocktails, green beer and a raffle for an 18-speed mountain bike, snowboard and $100 Dillon's gift certificate with proceeds benefiting the Red Cross' relief effort in Japan.

Breakfast will be served from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Specials include green eggs and ham, shamrock pancakes and corned beef and hash. The lunch and dinner menu includes Dillon’s Guinness stout chiliburger, shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, Irish bread pudding and blarney brownies.

Cat & Fiddle

Hollywood's only British pub and restaurant for 28 years, will be serving pints of Guinness and corned beef and Cabbage all day. The celebration  begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 2 a.m. From 4 p.m to 8 p.m. Guinness will be $3.95 and a magician will be on hand for some lively entertainment. Throught the day the restaurant will have drink specials, jello shots and giveaways.

Te'kila

At Te'kila the festivities begin at 4 p.m. with the "Get Lucky Happy Hour" where 10 four-leaf clovers will be hidden throughout the restaurant. The each lucky treasure finder will receive a pint of beer on the house. Throughout the night drink specials inlcude $4 pints of beer, $5 wells and Irish car bombs. A disc jockey begins playing music at 10 p.m. The festivities are scheduled from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
