Ultimately, LAYN seeks to enable each child it encounters to permanently transition away from street life into a safe place to live, giving them the chance to become full participants in society. LAYN's board of directors is comprised of many prominent Angelenos from the entertainment and business communities.

Classes emphasize hands-on learning, mentor relationships, teamwork and technical skills. The services of the center are offered at no cost to students.
