The main lobby is round with two 15-foot Oscars guarding the Dunn Theater auditorium entrance. The Academy building was built in 1947 and was named after Mary Pickford, a silent film star and founding member. The Mary Pickford Center houses the Dunn Theater, the Academy Film Archive and the Science and Technology Council. The Academy building also houses a TV studio, where the Johnny Carson Show, Barney Miller and the Newlywed Game were shot.
