For a film-industry hopeful coming to Los Angeles for the first time from the north, the first stop might be the Hollywood Film & Acting Academy, one of the first major sights coming off the 101 into Hollywood. Twenty-three years ago the HFAA was a one-stop shop for amateurs ready to start their Hollywood careers. Instead of spending money on the area's steep rent and countless acting classes, why not pay $1500 for rent and 90 hours of monthly training? Their 6-month Ultimate Acting Program includes housing, training, a chance to star in a feature film, head shots and demo reel. The teachers are all working actors, including Joe Estevez, brother of Emilio and Charlie Sheen and son of acclaimed actor Martin Sheen. The film program follows the same theory, training students through working professionals. Payments are accepted via PayPal and in person.
