The world famous Capital Records is located in the heart of Hollywood on Vine street. The venerable hit factory was the record label for some of the the world's most famous recording artists including Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Pink Floyd, Snoop Dogg, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Cold Play. Founded by Johnny Mercer and Buddy DeSylva in 1942, Capital Records is as much a tourist attraction as it is a record label. The Capital Records headquarters has been relocated to New York. This location now oversees west coast operations. The Capital Tower, has become a Hollywood landmark and is part of the walk of fame. The building is secure and although fans can see the gold records on the wall inside the lobby, photos are not allowed.
