Help Out in Hollywood Big Sunday Weekend

A huge effort to help spruce up Los Angeles and spread goodwill is planned for this weekend and it's not too late to join.

Round up your family, your neighbors or co-workers for Big Sunday Weekend. The annual community service event is in its 14th year.

In and around Hollywood there are four project sites where volunteers are still needed. If you would like to volunteer, click the event link listed below and sign up or call 323-549-9944. Check this list for more projects throughout L.A.

Paint, Plant and Clean at Selma Avenue School

Spend the Morning Making Barnsdall Park Even Better

You can also head to Temple Israel of Hollywood, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. where there will be clothes and books to sort, casseroles to make, items to knit and toiletry kits and back-to-school bags to assemble. It's one of the hubs for the event.

Can't commit a chunk of your weekend to a project? There's another way to help. This year Big Sunday is partnering with Alex's Lemonade Stand, an organization that fundraises to help find a cure for children with cancer. 

There will be a few lemonade stands sprinkled throughout Hollywood. Pick up a cup or two and support the young do-gooders.
