Hollywood and Bernstein Compete at Track Finals

Neither the Sheiks nor the Dragons score at the City Section Championships in Lake Balboa.

The Los Angeles City Section Track & Field Championships took place Thursday afternoon at Birmingham High in Lake Balboa; Hollywood High and Bernstein High each had athletes in the boys competition.

Senior Erick Ramos of Bernstein ran in the 3,200 and placed 13th out of 16 entrants, not high enough to score points. He covered the eight laps in 9:53.54. Omar Cortes of Santee won in 9:26.13.

Senior Chase Keegan of Hollywood tied for eighth place in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet, seven inches. Only the top six finishers scored points. Alex Hamidzadeh of El Camino Real won in 12-7.
