It is with a heavy heart that I tell you I will not be a candidate for City Council in 2013. Unfortunately, despite a valiant effort, our signatures did not qualify for the ballot.
Although I am very sad about not being able to run for City Council, I am more disappointed that I will not be able to fight for a thriving arts community, for actors and writers and artists across our City, for historic preservation and for stronger environmental protections. These core values are the reason I sought office, and I am sorry that I will not be able to be a champion for them on the Council.
I cannot let this moment pass without thanking the volunteers, contributors, staff and friends and family who supported me in this effort. I remain humbled by your faith and trust in me.

As for my future… I have decided to take a much-needed respite in India, the land of many inspirational figures including Mahatma Gandhi and Deepak Chopra. Although I am saddened by this turn of events, it is clear that this was not the path the universe had in mind for me at this time, and I accept that and am eternally grateful for the experience.
Thanks again my friends. Let’s be in touch…
