'Staples for Students' School Supply Drive to Benefit Hollywood Kids

Disney's Bella Thorne helps promote Staples' fifth annual school supply drive.

A nationwide school supply drive will benefit kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood thanks to a local Staples branch and DoSomething.org.

In Hollywood, customers who shop at Staples can help local students by bringing school supplies or making a donation at the store located at 6450 Sunset Blvd. through Sept. 15.

The supplies and donations made at that location will go straight to the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood in time for the next school year.

Actress and singer Bella Thorne is serving as this year's "celebrity influencer" to help promote Staples’ fifth annual “Staples for Students.”

“I’m excited to help motivate fellow teens to make a difference in their communities,” said Thorne in a press statement.

Thorne voiced the campaign’s public service announcement, which is available online now and will start airing on television and radio stations starting next month.

To kick-start the campaign, Staples donated $125,000 worth of school supplies to the program.

If students want to get more involved they can also contact Staples by texting SUPPLIES to 38383 (standard text messaging fees apply) to learn how to run their own school supply drives in their neighborhoods to donate to the cause.

In addition, teens can upload photos and videos or share details through social media.  For every “hand” raised, $1 will be donated by Staples to the cause.
