HHWNC Cheers On LA Marathon Runners
Board members as well as community members were out full force on Sunday, March 18th to cheer on the participants of the 2012 LA Marathon.  Volunteers provided water to the runners as the passed through the neighborhood council boundaries.  It was a great to see the neighborhood come together to cheer on our fellow Angelenos.  If you didn't get a chance to join us this year, please come out next year to support the participants.

HHWNC Supports Local Community Programs

HHWNC voted to support the music program at The Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood. Since 1937, the vision of The Boys & Girls Club has grown and changed with the needs of children and their families. As the needs continue to change, so will the dynamics of their programs and services.

Every day, The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood strives to improve each child’s life by instilling self-esteem, courage, and positive values through all of our educational programs. Youth come to The Club to receive tutoring, homework assistance, computer training sports, social recreation, education, mentoring, arts & crafts, music and so much more.  Members gain confidence by developing a sense of usefulness, competence and belonging.

In 1998, in collaboration with UCLA, The Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood started a music program which now offers programs to about 80 kids per day and 1,925 lessons per year to kids from elementary age to High School. HHWNC is proud to support the efforts of The Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood.

City Improvement Survey

The Controller's office is seeking feedback from all Angelenos on how the City can improve, through the Los Angeles Business and City Improvement Survey. The survey responses collected will not only help to make Los Angeles more business-friendly, but will also help assess and improve City services.

This survey is an opportunity for all to have their voices heard. The Controller's office will be collecting survey data over the next several months and will use it to compile ideas and recommendations that will help make Los Angeles more efficient.

We want to hear from you! Please take the survey online at the link below:
