Congressional Candidates Weigh in On Final Presidential Debate

Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack and her challenger for the 36th congressional district, Dr. Raul Ruiz, weighed in on the third and final presidential debate.

Both Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack and Dr. Raul Ruiz offered their thoughts up on Monday's final presidential debate, siding with their political parties.

Ruiz said the debate highlighted foreign policies of the past that the nation should avoid-- along with tiresome political games.

"Last night's debate showed what is really at stake in this election-- we can return to the failed policies of the past or we can move forward as a nation," Ruiz said.  "I believe that people are sick and tired of political games. By ending the war in Iraq and bringing our troops back, we can do some nation building where we need it most, right here at home."

Bono Mack, on the other hand, says we need to return to a past position of "world leadership," with the help of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

"The debate on foreign policy was a clear victory for Governor Mitt Romney – he showed a mastery of international affairs and laid out a set of policies that will return America to world leadership in maintaining peace and promoting prosperity at home and abroad.

“President Obama clearly did not want to debate a foreign policy that has left America weaker in the eyes of many of our allies and enemies. He did not articulate a plan of how our nation can regain the leadership he has allowed to slip during the past four years.”

For once, I agree with Ruiz. We can return to the failed policies of the past [4 years] and tiresome political games, or we can elect Mitt Romney who will rescue us from the brink of socialism and return America into the great, prosperous, respected nation it once was.

Ruiz does know that Obama get tax benifits from filing in Illiinois right? Mary and her husband file joint returns and HE lives in Florida. What lame commercials Ruiz is running. Show us something that overrides your character flaws and give us some reason to vote for you besides NOT voting for Mary. Oh wait, you can't.

Karia you clever girl you. " ) Democrats unwittingly support Romney every time they complain about the past 4 years. You'd thnk Bono Mack was the POTUS the way Ruiz blames her for everything. Too funny.

More good points from Linda. Tell us voters why we should vote for you, rather than why not to vote for your opponent. I think that philosophy was keeping the Romney campaign stuck in second gear for so long. It was too focused on why not to vote for Obama, rather than telling us why to vote for Romney. Of course, the Obama campaign was doing the same thing, spending a bulk of its campaign dollars painting a picture of Romney as a horrible, cancer-causing, religious cult member who cared little or nothing about anybody except his rich friends. That all changed with the debates, when people got a chance to see Romney as a human being, far different than the one pictured and sold by the Obama campaign and at the same time Romney and his campaign began to focus on why Americans should elect him as our next President. That is what is working. We need to elect Mary Bono Mack because she will be a part of the new Republican team in Washington D.C., the Romney team. Romney isn't a far anything politician; he is a pragmatic, problem solver, which is what we need in Washington D.C. and especially in the White House. Mary Bono Mack will be a willing and able member of his Republican team there. That's why she has my vote.

Charles, totally agree. I'm fed up to here with the old game. It has nothing to do with a candidates age or party either. Younger men on both sides play AT politics. What we need is practical, reasoned, rational ideas from people who know how to get things done instead of just talking about them. What Romney did in MA and the Olympics, whether you agree with it all or not, shows his capacity for problem solving and leadership. Go Romney/Ryan/ and anybody who is willing to set aside good-ol'boy Biden style government for pragmatic business like know how. We need to set aside petty differences over race, sex, social status etc in favor of fixing America! All of it for EVERYBODY.
