City Lifts Apron Parking Ban

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation will not cite cars parked in front of a driveway.

City officials have who park in the space between the sidewalk and the street, a move commonly referred to as apron parking, reports Mar Vista Patch.

The city's Department of Transportation will not be issuing parking citations for parking on a driveway apron, effective Oct. 12, according to a letter from LADOT General Manager Jaime de la Vega. Any citations issued on that date or later will be adminstratively canceled.

The letter notes that it is still illegal to block the sidewalk or to park on the street in front of the driveway.
