2 Stabbed at Hollywood Metro Station

Police seek attacker following the early-morning incident that left two wounded, authorities report.

Two people were stabbed and wounded early Tuesday at the Hollywood/Western Metro Red Line Station, and their attacker was being sought, authorities said.

The stabbings occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. on the mezzanine level of the station at Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue, said Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman Rick Jager.

A male was hospitalized in serious but stable condition, and a female was treated for "lesser'' injuries, Jager said.

The assailant was described only as a male. The stabbing apparently followed an argument, Jager said.

The station was closed for a time, and buses were brought in to accommodate affected passengers.

The trains remained in service, but bypassed the closed station, Jager said.
