Transient Gets 2 Years for Being an Accessory to a Deadly Knife Attack in Hollywood

Brian Joseph Widdows's co-defendant also got two years in the killing of h ristine Calderon.

A transient was sentenced today to two years in prison for being an accessory in a deadly knife attack on a woman who refused to give a trio of panhandlers any money for taking a photo of them outside the Hollywood & Highland Center.

Brian Joseph Widdows, 35, pleaded no contest to a pair of counts of being an accessory after the fact in the June 18, 2013, attack on 27-year-old Christine Calderon on Hollywood Boulevard.

Dustin James Kinnear, 27, is charged with murder, along with a knife use allegation, for allegedly stabbing Calderon after she declined to give the three men any money after taking a photo with her cell phone camera.

Kinnear is due back in court July 14 for a pretrial hearing.

Co-defendant Jason Joel Wolstone, 34, pleaded no contest to assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and was sentenced April 23 to a two- year prison term. Prosecutors said Wolstone pushed the woman and put her in a headlock.
