Transient Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Hollywood

A homeless man in his 40s is killed Tuesday at the Hollywood Recycle Center, police say.

A transient was in custody Friday for allegedly stabbing another homeless man to death at the Hollywood Recycle Center.

The crime occurred about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 6400 block of Yucca Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Lowell Taylor, 59, was arrested near the crime scene a short time after the stabbing and was booked on suspicion of murder, with bail set at $1 million.

The name of the dead man, who was in his 40s, was withheld pending notification of his relatives, according to the coroner's office.
