Surveillance Video Released in Fatal Stabbing at Marijuana Dispensary

Authorities seek two men captured on the surveillance tape linked to the June 2010 murder of Ila Packman in Hollywood.

Authorities say they have recovered video of two men suspected in the June 24, 2010, stabbing death of a clerk at Hollywood medical marijuana dispensary where the surveillance equipment was stolen, along with about $3,000 worth of pot.

Robbery-Homicide Division were able to come up with video of the two men from a nearby location, Detective Lisa Sanchez said. Video of the suspects was made public Wednesday in the hope that someone would recognize them.

Ila Ali Packman, 39, originally from Philadelphia,was found fatally stabbed in Hollywood Holistic II at 1607 N. El Centro Ave. by a fellow employee about 9 p.m. that Thursday night. He had a small role in the 2000 film "Steal This Movie" and worked as a grip in movie production.

Despite a $50,000 reward being offered for tips in the killing, detectives were unable to identify the suspects until recently, in part because the video surveillance equipment at the shop was taken.
