Sobriety Checkpoint Due Friday in Hollywood

LAPD to set up checkpoint at Santa Monica Boulevard and Bronson Avenue on Friday night.

The Los Angeles Police Department, the county Sheriff's Department and the  California Highway Patrol will be out in force as part of the statewide "Avoid the 100 DUI Task Force" to catch drunk drivers over the holidays.

In anticipation of the season, the LAPD has planned the following sobriety checkpoints and driving-under-the-influence (DUI) patrols:

  •  Thursday, Dec. 22 - Sobriety Checkpoint from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Imperial Highway at Main Street in Southeast Area;
  •  Thursday, Dec. 22 - DUI Saturation Patrol from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. in North Hollywood Area;
  •  Friday, Dec. 23 - Sobriety Checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Ventura Boulevard at Big Oak Drive in North Hollywood Area;
  •  Friday, Dec. 23 - Sobriety Checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Sunset Boulevard at Coronado Street in Northeast Area;
  •  Friday, Dec. 23 - Sobriety Checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Santa Monica Boulevard at Bronson Avenue in Hollywood Area;
  •  Friday, Dec. 23 - Sobriety Checkpoint from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Western Avenue at Slauson Avenue in 77th Street Area.

The statewide "Avoid the 100 DUI Task Force" is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
