Police Shut Down 'Girls Gone Wild' Shoot in Hollywood Hills

One man cited after police respond to neighbors' complaints during photo shoot at nearby home, LAPD reports.

An apparent photo shoot for Girls Gone Wild in the Hollywood Hills was broken up by Los Angeles police Wednesday after neighbors complained.

Officers from the LAPD's Hollywood Division were called to a home in the 7900 block of Vulcan Drive at about 3:30 p.m. when neighbors called with complaints of a public nuisance, said Officer Bruce Borihanh.

According to the LA Weekly, it is not believed that Girls Gone Wild video series founder Joe Francis was at the home.

Borihanh said "an unidentified man was cited and released on a misdemeanor charge of commercial filming without a permit."

He said filming on sound stages does not require city permits, but commercial filming at a private home is another matter because of complaints about parking and other related matters.

The Los Angeles Times reported that about 30 people were involved in the production when police showed up.

The home apparently was rented to a man who sublet it for film shoots, Borihanh said. It had been the subject of neighbor complaints for some time, he said.
