Police Seek Suspect in Fatal Shooting in East Hollywood

Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating whoever is responsible for the death near Lemon Grove and Oxford avenues on Wednesday afternoon.

Police in Hollywood are seeking the public's help to find the person responsible for the shooting death of a 28-year-old man in east Hollywood on Wednesday.

Miran Ashikyan was shot near Lemon Grove and Oxford avenues about 4:20 p.m., said Lt. Kitty McCracken of the coroner's office. Paramedics took Ashikyan to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police and firefighters.

An investigation is ongoing, but at this time detectives have little information about the suspect, whom they believe is male, according to an advisory released by the Los Angeles Police Department. The exact motive for the shooting remains unclear, although it may have been related to a personal dispute.

Two suspects were last seen headed toward Western Avenue in a black BMW sport utility vehicle, said Officer Gregory Baek of the LAPD's Media Relations unit.
