Police Seek Help in Nabbing a Burglar Who Stabbed a Hollywood Man

Police today disseminated a photo of a suspect wanted for stealing a man's laptop and repeatedly stabbing the victim when he tried to get his property back.

The May 10 crime occurred at a Hollywood apartment building at Russell and Western avenues just before 5 a.m., said Detective Warren Eberhardt of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Division.

Both men were leaving the building when the victim noticed that the suspect had grabbed his computer and tucked it inside his jacket, Eberhardt said. When he tried to get his laptop back, the suspect stabbed him multiple times in the upper body with a sharp object, then fled with the computer.

Eberhardt said the victim, whose name was withheld, is now out of the hospital and recuperating.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s, with a distinctive bald spot on the left side of his head. He's about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs around 170 pounds and should be considered armed and dangerous, the detective said.

Anyone with knowledge about the suspect's identity or whereabouts was asked to call Eberhardt or Officer Adrian Maxwell of the Hollywood Division at (213) 972-2955.
