Police Investigating Rowdy Crowd Incident on Hollywood Boulevard

Detectives are determining whether are any criminal charges should be filed.

Los Angeles police detectives are investigating whether there are any criminal charges to be filed after an impromptu block party concert that went awry on Hollywood Boulevard on Wednesday evening.

"At this moment we don’t know," LAPD spokeswoman Rosario Herrera told Patch. "Detectives are conducting an investigation."

An estimated 1,000 people were waiting for DJ Kaskade to perform after he tweeted to his followers earlier that afternoon about the last-minute performance.

Police when the crowd refused to disperse.

According to a report in the LA Times, Kaskade had planned to roll up in a flatbed truck, play two songs and head into the premiere of Electric Daisy Carnival Experience at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The event was permitted by the Los Angeles Fire Department, which planned a 30-minute lane closure of Hollywood Boulevard.
