Officers Shoot at Suspect with Knife in East Hollywood
LAPD was responding to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon.

A man allegedly armed with a knife was killed in an officer-involved shooting in East Hollywood, but no officers were injured, police said.
It happened about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Sunset and Hobart boulevards, said Officer Sally Madera of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect was struck by police gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene, she said.
LAPD Commander Dennis Kato told reporters at the scene that a Taser was used on the man prior to him being shot.

The man had allegedly been armed with a knife while and was breaking items inside a 99 Cents Only store prior to the shooting, according to a broadcast report.
