Man Shot Outside Hollywood Hotel

A man was shot to death outside a Hollywood hotel early today, police said.

The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. outside the Las Palmas Hotel in the 1700 block of North Las Palmas Avenue.

Officers on foot patrol on nearby Hollywood Boulevard heard shots and then found the victim unconscious on the sidewalk, said Los Angeles police Det. Steven Katz.

Paramedics determined he had been shot once in the chest, Katz said, adding that the victim was a man who appeared to be in his 20s.
