Man Shot Dead at 98 Cents Store in Hollywood

A man was fatally shot today at a 98 Cents Store on Hollywood Boulevard, police said.

The man died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 12:10 p.m. in the 5000 block of Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles police Officer Sally Madera said.

No arrests were reported. Traffic was routed away from the scene while an investigation was conducted.

Police were unable to confirm reports from the scene that the shooter was wearing a hospital mask.
