Man Killed Walking Into Hollywood Freeway Lanes

Why the man was on the freeway was not immediately known, CHP says.

A man walking in the northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in Hollywood was killed Tuesday morning when he was hit by several vehicles, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident, which occurred near the Highland Avenue onramp, was reported at 1:11 a.m., said CHP Officer Anthony Martin.

"Witnesses told responding officers that a man was staggering in-between the Number 2 and 3 northbound lanes when he was struck by several vehicles," Martin said.
