An early morning three-car collision leaves one dead and one with minor injuries Saturday.

A 19-year-old man was killed Saturday in a three-vehicle collision on the Hollywood (101) Freeway that injured another person and temporarily blocked all southbound lanes in Cahuenga Pass, according to the coroner and CHP officers.

James Hicks of Hollywood, who was driving a 1996 Acura, died at the scene, Lt. Larry Dietz of the coroner's office said.

The crash occurred at about 12:25 a.m. near the Highland Avenue exit, California Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin said.

The third motorist in the crash, a 23-year-old Los Angeles man driving a 1992 Honda, was not injured.

All southbound lanes were temporarily closed to accommodate the investigation. A SigAlert was declared at 12:48 a.m. and CHP officers diverted southbound traffic off the freeway at Highland Avenue, Martin said.

The freeway was cleared at 3:45 a.m. and the SigAlert canceled.

Police sought two suspects who got away.
