The unnamed LAPD officer, believed to be about 50 years-old, was transported in serious condition to a hospital, Scott said.

The officer suffered a broken pelvis when his motorcycle broadsided the rear door of another vehicle, said Sgt. Randy Modrell of the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division, where the injured officer was assigned.

The injured officer was on his way home at the time of the crash from the Hollywood Bowl. He was transported to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center for treatment, Modrell added.

"There was some intrusion into the rear side door of the other vehicle, but I don't believe the other party was injured," Modrell continued. "We have not been able to determine who was at fault because there is a conflict between the two parties' stories."

Anyone with information on this crash was asked to call the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8000.
