UPDATED LAFD Conducting Air and Ground Search for Two Hikers in Griffith Park

The search for the stranded hikers began at approximately 10 a.m. Sunday morning

Two men were rescued by a helicopter Sunday at 10:35 a.m. in Griffith Park after reports of the two hikers being stranded surfaced earlier in the morning.

A Los Angeles Fire Department alert stated Firefighters and paramedics are checking out a report of two stranded hikers in Griffith Park.  

Paramedics and firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 9:56 a.m.  Lenske said in an updated alert that the two males were rescued by helicopter and there were no reports of injuries at this time.

"They were hoisted due to access and transported to a safe location for medical evaluation by (a) LAFD ambulance." he said.
